Strikeout

Tonight's the night!!! After 2 weeks of intense practise, it's finally here. Can't wait to see how tonight's fireflies' gig gonna turn out. Hopefully everything goes well like in practise though.

Had my first exam paper yesterday. It's probably the only paper that doesn't really need to be studied and you just have to crap your way through. Thank goodness for had experience in photoshop and blogging. If not cannot answer the questions. hehe

Fireflies and something something

I've learnt my lesson. Thunderstorms and computers do NOT go hand in hand. :(
I've been computer-less for few days already and i feel i'm losing my marbles. Everytime i go back home, it feels like i'm goin home to an empty room. Life has lost its meaning.

Guess that makes me an Internet junkie. I even lost mood to do anything and i could do was stare at my dead computer.

Sadly i'm blogging this from an internet cafe and i don't think i'll be able to update as often as i would like to. And just when i needed to use the computer the most, it had to die on me.

Anyway, just like to make an announcement in case i don't come online anymore. I'll be playing for Silent Scenery next Thursday (26th April 2007) at Jamasia. The gig starts at 8pm. Here's the flyer. See you there!

Hitz

Here's the post on hitz.fm bday bash. Had enough of anger-filled posts already. :)

I must apologize for the lack of clear pics. Most of it were rather blur. Wasn't kidding when i said that i stayed from 4pm till 12am. Take a look at the pics and you'll notice the sky getting darker.

It was fortunate that it wasn't raining heavily that day. When we got there, it was drizzling and we took shelter under one of the tent while some of the people remained under the rain in front of the stage. Bout 20 minutes or so, the rain stopped and it's time to kick start the party!

The guards clad in green were Rela members. They look like some fierce bulldog ready to bite any civilian without tags who crosses the red line.

They had this spoof of heroes playing at the end of every performance showcasing hitz.fm's djs' inabilities. It was funny at the beginning and then halfway it got a bit boring. Here's some of the djs that you hear on the radio.

The show started off with Gerhana Skacinta with their ska/reggae music. Next up was Bittersweet. These dudes sure know how to put on a show. I was seriously impressed with their performance. They reminded me of Radiohead with their songs which sounded very brit-rock.The sound were crisp clear. It was damn hot that time and they had their suits on. Respect man.

There were some hip hop act too but since i hate hip hop, let's move on. Somewhere when night fell, the chicks came out to play. *drool* i loveee serena c and this girl that sang along with Sasi the don. Think her name's Athelia or something like that.

Dragon Red had Melina playing bass for their set.

Finally the only show worth waiting for was LO. I still can't believe we stayed on for 7 hours just to watch his performance. I've been a fan of his ever since i first heard Evening news. I loved that song to bits. That was kinda like my first introduction to the local music scene along with bands like Juliet the orange and some other bands that came out that time. Some more he's a Kuching fella.

I was so glad that he played Evening News. Felt so nostalgic. Lol. The crowd were singing along and jumping around. Lagi steam man. Seriously you should've been there! This bash kicks ass.

Blardy Airasia

Looks like i lost the case to the majority. So schedule still remains the same as it was before. I hope you cina bengs are happy!

I just rang up Airasia to let them know of my intention to cancel my flight. No, im not planning to change my date since i would end up paying more instead with more hidden additional fees. It's actually my flight to KK. Thank goodness my Kuching flight is untouched. So just gotta cancel my KK trip.

I never liked Airasia ever since i first stepped into the plane and i still don't. I'm only taking it for the cheap price. Even when Airasia first came into the picture, i was taking advantage of MAS's cheap promotion(forgot the name) which they came up with to challenge Airasia's knockout price. Even though it was only economy class, it was like first class on Airasia except that Airasia don't have first class. Plus, they provide you food instead of selling you incredibly-out-of-the -world-ridiculously priced food which you can get for 200% cheaper on ground.

I would advice those that take Airasia to know your rights to what you can and cannot claim because you will only get it back if you ask. If you don't ask, they won't even bother. As you might or might not have known, the word 'refund' does not exist on their dictionary. Heck, even if you ask Tony(CEO of Airasia), he'll give you a blur face that makes you wanna bitchslap him. But when the Transport minister stepped in to ask airlines to refund back airport tax, only then did they do it, reluctantly of course. Having said that, when i was on the phone with their customer service representative, he told me that all i'm getting back was my airport tax which was like only RM12 out of the hundreds i'm paying. @&^%#&^%!!!

I thought i could get a refund for the fuel surcharge as well since i won't be boarding the plane. Guess what? I won't even get that back! Know why? Cause they won't know i cancelled the flight. They don't actually cancel your flight. All YOU have to do to cancel your flight is that you don't show up for the flight. So that way, they get to keep the fuel surcharge instead of opening up the seats for buyers who might need to get on the plane. Now i really miss taking Mas where you still get back almost half of what you pay. Sigh.

And i can only claim back my refund after the plane has taken off. I have to call the call-centre back to ask for the refund again! This is so damn inconvenient. That's why if you don't know that you can claim back, you'll most probably lose it to them. So now i just have to give a no-show in order to cancel it. I think this is so goddamn stupid. I think Airasia should change their tagline to
'Now everyone can't get refunds...'

I hate cina beng

I hate almost everything there is about this country. If i had the money i'd migrate now. Exams schedule out last week and i found out that the last paper for me would fall on the first day of our holidays. Since it came out so late, i had to refer to the official calender to book my flight ticket. So, now it clashes.

I wrote a complaint to the uni and to my surprise they actually changed the date of that paper to the earliest of all 5 subjects. Then now, today some stupid 4 flat student wrote a letter and even came up with a petition against the change citing reasons such as 'it may cause unnecessary stress' and bla bla bla. Unnecessary stress my ass! Say not enough time. Yeah right. I've been struggling all these while and under so much stress yet i never write a complaint to say that the course is too tough. You all can do so well yet wanna complain not enough time. &^%@&%#&^!!!!!!

Got a phone call from the office today and i will have to discuss one on one with the person from my faculty. But the exam department had a meeting today and i guess this thing is pretty much sided on those SOBs. I damn blardy hate those chinese ed fellas.

In the mood

Filler post before i proceed to write another entry on hitz's bash. It's been an interesting month for me. New things coming my way and somewhat unexpectedly. Not ready to reveal what yet but you'll see it soon enough. Just got to finalize a few things first. Hehe

As usual, exams are just round the corner. Wanna just get it over with and move on with my stuff. Will be goin back Kuching soon too. Sometimes i think i traded my sanity for knowledge. Too much formulas in my head now. Get it off!!!!

Hitz

Quick post here.

Was over at Hitz.fm birthday bash on Saturday with Mike. The event started at 4pm and lasted till about 12am in which we stood for more than 6 hours there. We only wanted to catch Lo perform but never expected his set to be placed near the end so that explains the wait. There were few bands there which really caught my attention. Really good ones. Will update on that soon. I should've checked out Shaz's blog for the VIP tix so i could at least get to see some of the celebs-to-drool- for.

Wishing you all a great week ahead.

My new found love

I got myself a new external hard disk drive! *leaps for joy* but that's 200 gone from my bank account.

Been wanting to get myself one for ages ever since my memory space started depleting and i barely have enough space for my edited files let alone for my latest craze - anime!

I find it funny how i used to hate anime. I thought it was stupid and the expression(especially the *sweat* that everyone's doing nowadays) were so exaggerated. I laughed at my friends who watched and i always wondered what's so interesting about them. Guess the problem with me was that i never gave it a try.

I was so bored one day that i downloaded Death Note without even knowing what it was when it first came out. It became an instant hit and from then on, i never looked at anime the same way again. :D I started downloading a few others and currently on my viewing list is tsubasa chronicles. So nice can! Now i'm looking forward to season 3 which will be coming out this year. I can't wait! I'm almost done with season 2 now.

From all the animes i've watched, i realized that there is a list of words/phrases which you will be able to find in almost all available animes without fail:

tasukete kudasai - help me
arigato - thank you
baka - stupid
sodeska - really
sugoi - wahhhhh!

I'm too lazy to continue on with the list. I'm sure you get the point. Well, it's back to watching Full Metal Alchemist for me. Till then, enjoy your mid week!

Bedroom eyes

Word of the week:

bedroom eyes(n): Flirtatious look

Also synonymous with amorous stare, come-hither look, glad eyes, ogle

Today was the first time i came across the word from a friend of mine. Seeing how he found it hard to explain, i googled the word and this is what it came up with. So the next question that goes to mind is this, 'is it a good thing?'

The eye is the window to your soul.

I sometimes like to just to stare at people and wait to see how they would respond. Some may find it uncomfortable while some would just look back and softens it with a smile. However, its rare that i get myself surprised back instead. That seemed to be the situation recently. A stare that seems to pierce right into my soul. The mysterious aura sends about a whimsical signal. Could be anyone's guess but then again, who's guessing.
