I've heard about Thankgiving but this is the first time i've heard about Black Friday. Black Friday falls one day after Thanksgiving. The reason why it's on a friday is due to the fact that thanksgiving falls on the fourth thursday in November over in the United States. Even so, it is not an official holiday but most employers would give the day off and apparently, one of the busiest retail shopping day of the year. During this day you can see shoppers lining up hours before the stores with huge sales open up.
So if you need to get something but would like to avoid the hassle of queueing up at 5 in the morning, there's always online sites to help you. blackfriday.info provides you with email alerts that informs you when a new black friday ad has been posted. It is a consumer friendly site that helps you with your shopping planning. There's all sorts of deals that you can find from various stores even from major ones like walmart. Say if you're looking for toys for children, you can check out their toys'r'us store. There you will see the items listed and they are categorized for your convenience. The prices are also included in the list so it makes it a whole lot easier for you.
With such service, you wouldn't have to trouble yourself anymore. All you need is a click of a button.

Jap for life
I just read that someone's grandma got stuck in a lost cab for 2 freaking hours. Considering that the driver didn't know how to get to the destination, maybe malaysian drivers should adopt some japanese technology.
Since japanese streets are really hard to find, cabs and even some cars are fitted with a GPS system and all they need to do is to set the destination and it'll show you the way on the screen. Awesome eh?

Trainings
In my previous job, i looked forward to their training programs that my boss sent me. For me, i always welcomed something away from routine work. Not to mention i get to take the day off the usual work. hehe. Sometimes when they have it in a hotel, you get more distracted. :D
What i loved about trainings is how educational it can be. There's always something new to learn even if it's something that you think you already know. That's why Management Training exist. By sending you to trainings, the company is investing in you. Hopefully you would be able to use that knowledge to increase the effectiveness of the company.

Letdown
Remember the post about the GACC? Looks like i won't be going. Apparently, the flyer left out an important detail. When they stated MMU, i assumed it would be the one in cyberjaya but instead, it turned out to be the malacca campus. Even though they do have bus services to go from kl, i'm not sure if it's full but details are as vague as ever with no official listing. Sigh

Sector 9
*paid post*
I have only stepped on a skateboard once in my whole life. Needless to say, it wasn't as cool as i'd imagined it to be when i fell. But everytime i see videos of how all those pro skaters do their tricks or when i play tony hawk's, i feel... inspired.
To me skateboarding isn't just an extreme sports. It's a mix of art and sports. If you notice, there's rarely a plain boring skateboard that people use. Most of it are decorated with graffiti like designs which catches the eye. People who bought plain ones usually end up decorating it themselves.
Sector 9 is one of the brands out there. You should check out some of the Sector 9 Skateboards .They have a wide selection of shapes and sizes for cruising and skating parks to choose from. Along with that, there's also hardware, wheels and risers for you to customize your skateboard.

Ad of the year
Anyone read The Sun dated 26 Feb 2008? My uni's one of the distribution points and so naturally most students would have grabbed a copy early in the morning. I found a copy in my lecture hall. It was my usual reading until i saw this ad to which i greatly disapproved. Feel free to click to enlarge it. The comment written is NOT mine. I don't write chinese for goodness sake.

What i don't agree is how they used students from both UTAR and KTAR as their argument to swing votes their way. That to me is a cheap move regardless of how much they paid for the ad. A human is entitled to education and is not a privilege. Education should never be tied to politics. It hinders the development of a better education system and that is proven in our malaysian education system which is at worse, a complete failure due to political influence.
I must say that most students enter UTAR or KTAR because of financial constraint, rejected application to their preferred local uni or some other unknown reason. Given a chance to go to a better place, they would have already packed their bags and left. What the hell did MCA do for both KTAR and UTAR? Most bright, capable students have already left the country which sparks an issue of brain drain. Having been in both KTAR and UTAR myself, i have never enjoyed my 'honeymoon' years there. As most are chinese, you can see different cultures that they practise in the organization. The typical chinaman thinking where people are more collective rather than individualistic. Being in a organizing committee once helped me see just how controlled the students were which resulted in a supressed environment and limited the flow of ideas.
Personally, i'd recommend you go elsewhere. I can go on and on so i guess i'll stop here. :D Oh, and i find the comment written on the paper rather hilarious.

Flashlights
*paid post*
Flashlights are often overlooked when shopping for neccessities. While we may not always have use for them under normal circumstances, they do come in handy during emergencies such as blackouts or when you have an urge to use it in place of a disco ball. Having said that, we should always have one around in the house or car cause we never know when we're gonna need them. Like how i went to a cave but didn't have any flashlights but thankfully there were flashlights on rent. You could hid flashlights wherever you want but just make sure you remember where you kept them.
There are many different types of flashlights for sale. For example like how www.magnalight .com offers flashlights as well as spotlights. One obvious difference is their sizes. Some are handheld while some others have stands. The type of bulb that it has produces different power. I still remember how flashlights from 10 years ago only uses a small light bulb but now we have LEDs. Magnalight even has a flashlight holder with a magnetic base. It seems that all these innovation just keeps getting better and better. Heavy duty flashlights for those who work under tough conditions are also up for grabs. These are also good for those who treks and camp out. In all, you should always have one ready near you!

F you Abdoolah
PTPTN is being a bitch as usual. I'm awfully sick and tired of government related ministries and departments. Ineffective and always a pain in the ass. I hoping they'll start losing lots of seats in the coming election and i'm wishing that the pee emm would stop sleeping and travelling so much. Someone seriously need to slap him awake.
Anyway, the letter today from the ahlong said that i need to pay back soon or they'll take legal action. Just few days ago, i received a reply stating that i don't have to pay back yet. How contradicting isn't it. Ask me no need to pay yet and then now ask me to pay back within few days. It is noted however that both letters came from different departments.
April fool is still 2 months away in case you didn't notice. *&^$& %^$!!!!

Cosmetic Surgery
*paid post*
While cosmetic surgery is big in countries like Thailand and Korea, an individual should always decide themselves instead of being pressured by other people around. Should anyone opt for it, it should be out of their own will instead of someone telling them how awful some parts of their bodies are. One of the more popular ones is Breast Enlargement UK. Since going for cosmetic surgery is no small matter, the weight of it is definately paralyzing to some.
The root problem is always insecurity. People are insecure about the way they look and would want to improve on it. But what most people don't know is that while you can change the outside through cosmetic surgery, the 'inside' can't. Even if you feel slightly better, the insecurity would still be there if not dealt with.

Plastic cards
Credit cards are useful tools. With it, we don't need to carry loads of cash. But with so many types of credit card out there, how do we choose one that best suits us. Fool's credit card comparison centre should be your first stop.
They've got all the information that you need and you can compare the credit cards offered. It makes it easy for consumers to make decision before they apply for a credit card. Of course, for most, they would go for interest free credit cards. So head over there to compare now!

Online Tragedy
It felt good to be offline for a week. I didn't checked my mails let alone friendster and facebook. So when i came back, i logged into friendster and sure enough i had new messages. To my horror, this greeted me in my inbox.
I don't think i know this person and so cautiously i opened the message which read:
. . .
I wouldn't mind if it was a girl but this sounds wrong. Usually this is what guys do on friendster when they spot someone they're interested in. That explains why so many of them now set their profile to private. This is making me consider setting to private too. lol.
I thought it might be a mistake so i checked my profile. But nothing was out of place. I believe i put Male as my gender. Heck i don't even have a picture of myself in there. My display pic was this pic of my dog.

So i proceeded to check his profile. Then it all made sense. He's a bi-sexual.
Honestly, i feel uncomfortable with people who has hints of gayness. I have nothing against them but i just don't feel comfortable.
With all the 'lo's and ah beng description, i grossed out and closed the window.
I guess i shouldn't even bother replying but i feel like replying this:
*woof* *woof*
By the way, happy valentine's day to all of you regardless if you're celebrating or not. This is not the only day to shower your loved ones so it's ok. Guess i'll be missing this year's valentine.

Greece
I used to write letters to my penpal in Greece. I still have the letters with me but after few years of exchanges, we stopped. I guess we got lazy when emails started. I've never been to Greece but from tv shows and travel guides, there's plenty of scenic places to visit.
Oh and did you know that you can go to the Greek islands by ferries? These greek ferries make it easy for tourists to go around. With so many major ports there, hopping onboard a ferry greece isn't a bad idea at all. So get your greece ferry tickets now!

Gong Xi Fa Chai
I'm currently at the airport with some time to kill before my plane takes off. Funny how i would update at such inconvenience while i wouldn't even bother back home. Not that it matters since i won't have access to internet back in Kuching. Anyhow, i would like to wish all of you (if you're still here) a happy chinese new year. It's the year of the rat in case you didn't know. Well, since i was born in the year of the rat, thought i might as well drop that in. hehe. May you prosper in all season and don't forget to donate your ang pows whether partially or full. I accept Paypal too. *grin*
