Another eventful day
I just came back from a wedding dinner and i think i might have a lil too much drink and now i'm feeling tipsy from the bottomless wine. Was rushing for 2 events today; namely my convocation and alice and reiner's wedding dinner. Thankfully i made it in time. Don't think i'm in any mood to update but hopefully i'll get my hands on the pics and will be able to update soon. Not in my state of drunkeness though.

While you were out
T'was a fun night and it's been ages since i've felt that way. The gig tonight at No Black Tie was courtesy of timeout magazine kl and it features 4 bands including our band. I must say that all of them were awesome and i had a great time just listening to them performing as well our performing on our set.
It was also the first time in my life that i played in front of so many ang mohs. It was a little bit intimidating i must say but it gets better with every song. :D The biggest difference between them and majority of the malaysian crowd is that they would just sit and listen enjoying while our other counterpart would busy themselves talking. Nothing wrong with that but its just that things sounds better when crowds are paying attention. :P
Oh and not forgetting eye candies!!! Instead of the normal mat rempit gang that you find in gigs, the whole place was filled with probably those in the late 20s and above and classy would the word for them. I'm swamped. Been running around the whole day settling things for my convo before heading over to the gig. Hope to get the pics soon and probably update on it when i get the chance. Nite!

Quarter inch for ya
While browsing through some vids on youtube, i came across one with few seconds of my cameo. lol. It was taken at one of the gigs that we played in where the only ones watching were our friends and the next band. Anyway it was an interesting one to play. Here ya go:
Shades
I would definately love to own a pair of shades or as some would rather call them sunglasses. Believe it or not, i have yet to own a pair and it's probably about time since i do love the outdoors and occasionally symptoms of wanderlust would appear at the right moment.
First and foremost i believe that shades should always be for the safety of your eyes. Even more so now with the depletion layer of the ozone, more harmful rays are penetrating and reaching right into our eyes. Then comes the issue of finding one that suits your personal style. Of course there are various types of shades such as sport shades.
Perhaps it's the shop that doesn't carry one that suits me. In any case, one should not dismiss the opportunity that online shopping might carry.

EP for sale
Well, the EP's been finally launched after facing much obstacles during the few days before the launch date. With the huge weight finally lifted, i am more than relieved. While i feel that we could've done much better given more time, i suppose with all the rush and whatnot this is satisfactory enough.
Big thanks to Robin and Steph and many others who went and made the event so much more memorable for us.
Haven't got my own copy of the CD yet though. Actually haven't even heard the final edit. I only managed to stream some songs online.
So anyone wanna get the CD, do let me know. It's priced at RM15 with 5 tracks on it.

Panic! at the disco in KL
Was pretty much looking forward to panic!'s performance since last month after finding out they're gonna play in KL at Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil. It's the first time i've been to bukit jalil. While i'm aware i'm about 10 years late since the commonwealth games in Malaysia, it still marvels me that these were the buildings that hosted the games.

Was told that the putra stadium isn't particularly big and true enough it wasn't. However, the shocking thing is that i find it pretty odd that there were only a handful of people waiting outside the entrance before the gate opens. While i was prepared to stand right at the end of the stadium, i was surprised that there weren't a lot of people attending but as usual majority were the younger ones. I'm starting to feel that i might be a little too old for these. I went alone and while not really expecting to meet anyone there, i had a hunch that hsu jen might be there and true enough i spotted her. Lol.

To show you just how few people there were when they opened the doors to let us in, take a look at the pic below! And that was just half of the stadium.

When we got in, One Buck Short were still soundchecking. I have absolutely no idea why every damn big concert would always have either one buck short or pop shuvit or both! Seriously there are so many other bands out there that would definately be a better candidate. Honestly, I'm getting sick of one buck short and their songs. It was the same setlist as the one in my chemical romance.

Whoever was the sound engineer for these guys suck big time. As all Malaysians would expect eh? ;P

Panic! came on after them and thankfully the place a little more packed than before but still lots of room around. I absolutely love their first album but their second one entitled pretty odd didn't sit too well with me as through the playlist, i probably only like 2 songs. Nevertheless, they put up a great show for fans here and hearing it live was just awesome. So here's the pics from the concert.

Got myself contact lenses!
After many years of suffering bad eyesight, i finally got myself a pair of contact lens today! Many are surprised when they find out that i actually wear specs but the only time i bother to wear them is during classes. Other time i'll just go out without them and have to put up with straining my eyes.
It was these last few years that it got so bad that i can't even read the menu over the counter. It got to the point that i can't take it anymore and so today finally i bought them. The eye check gave me a shock when they say i had astigmatism. It's still not so bad so i'm hoping that it won't go up any higher.
I wore contacts before but only for a month and that was it. I'm surprised that i was able to put them on quite 'easily' last time but this time round, i spent 1 and a half hour just to get 2 of them on!
As i'm writing this, it still feels a bit uncomfortable but i can see so much better now. It's like a whole new world. How i envy those with perfect eyesight.

Going for profits
How do you manage your point of sale systems as your company grows bigger and bigger? Of course in business, we all want to maximize our profits while minimizing losses. While point of sale systems are an investment for a company to keep track of certain things, what happens when items such as bar code scanner or the handheld barcode scanner fails? Repairs could be done but that would mean more money going out.
So that's where VisionPOS comes in. They help maximize the returns for the retailer's POS investment. So how do they do it? Through direct and outsourced maintenance programs, supplying new as well as refurbished point of sale products such as ncr point of sale products, they are able to support all those retailers. Yes, even they have been named as a reseller of NCR solutions. No matter how you look at it, they are indeed a worthwhile investment!

Rental owning
With the economic woes that the world is facing, it is indeed a hard time and challenging time for families financially. But then there's a way for customers who are looking for consumer durable goods for their home. A good way to not incur debt or jeopardize to the family's credit is to look at the rent to own industry.
So what is rent to own? 'Rent' is the key difference between it and the retail credit sale. Seeing how it is rental, there is no interest charged, no credit checks and one good feature is how customers can return the product at any time. With no obligations and with added free repair and delivery, it is indeed a good option for a lot of people.
The company APRO who's site is at www.RTOHQ.com, also includes lease to own infos and there will be a national rent to own dealers convention coming in St. Louise so look out for that!

Quickcenter
As with most beginners, it can be discouraging when your introduction to a specific hobby is marred with frustration with trying to get it right. For those interested in pottery however, now we have new products for the potter's wheel which will help those who are in the beginner to intemediate level of pottery.
It is a centering device that can help those who finds it difficult to find the center. The process of centering on the potter's wheel is not an easy one. But with the Quickcenter system, it is able to eliminate free-hand centering. This is done by cutting an exact plug of clay and then put it locked and centered to the wheel head thus making the clay centered before the wheels even begin to spin. Because of this, the system can help to eliminate the intimidation and frustration for first-timers. Now they can truly enjoy and focus on the art of throwing instead of losing patience.

Potter's Exhibit
Hobbies related to arts and crafts often times take a lot of practise in order to improve. While pottery from ceramic arts probably isn't the most taken up hobby by most people, it does have its share of fans and those are the people who enjoy getting their hands dirty to create their own masterpieces from clays.
As with other hobbies, it takes a lot of patience and practises to probably get things right and not forgetting the tools needed for it. For example, if you're working with polymer clay, you'll need to have a polymer clay and craft oven as well as modeling tools. Then you might want to consider getting a clay potter wheel. Being the first company to produce lead-free glazes, AMACO/Brent now offers a whole extensive range of it so expect varieties to spice up your creation.
Also, there is a National Potter Exhibit and Conference coming up which is hosted by the company as well so expect loads of technique exploration!
